  20. Installing WordPerfect 5.x
  21.  
  22. This document was created to help you run WordPerfect on a
  23. NetWare Lite server.  If you want more than one user to have
  24. access to the WordPerfect program, you must make these changes. 
  25. WARNING: If you plan on using WordPerfect on two or more
  26. machines, you must obtain a multiple-copy site license from the
  27. WordPerfect Corporation.

  29. FASTPATH STEPS                 DETAILED INSTRUTIONS

  31. 1. cd c:\wp                    1. It is necessary to be in the
  32.                                directory where the WordPerfect files
  33.                                are located.  This is usually called
  34.                                c:\wp.  To change to this directory type
  35.                                "cd \wp" and press enter.
  36.  
  37. 2. Type "install"              2. WordPerfect has an installation
  38.                                procedure which allows you to change the
  39.                                machine's configuration.  To access the
  40.                                installation menu, type "install" and
  41.                                press enter.
  42.  
  43. 3. Select "Y" to               3. Select "Y" to continue with the
  44. continue                       installation procedure.
  45.  
  46. 4. Select "Y" to               4. Since you are installing these files
  47. install to hard disk           for a NetWare Lite server, select "Y" to
  48.                                install to your hard disk drive.
  49.                                Note: You must have a hard drive to
  50.                                install your computer as a server with
  51.                                NetWare Lite.

  53. 5. At the installation         5. Select "3" to perform a customized
  54. menu, select "3"               installation onto a network.
  55.  
  56. 6. At the Network              6. The WP{WP}.ENV file is the file that
  57. Customization Installation     lets WordPerfect recognize a network
  58. Menu, select "5"               environment and allows the WordPerfect
  59.                                program files to be shared by multiple
  60.                                users.  To check or create this file,
  61.                                select "5".
  62.  
  63. 7. Press "Y" to create if      7. If the WP{WP}.ENV file does not
  64. necessary                      already exist, the computer will ask you
  65.                                if you want to create it.  Select "Y"
  66.                                for yes. Note: If this file already exists,
  67.                                the computer will skip this step.

  69. 8. At the Check                8. The Check WP{WP}.ENV File menu
  70. WP{WP}.ENV File Menu,          appears and allows you to select the
  71. select "0"                     type of network environment you will be
  72.                                using.  Since NetWare Lite is not
  73.                                listed, select "0" for other.
  74.                                Note: Do NOT select 1 for Novell
  75.                                Netware.  This will not configure your
  76.                                machine for NetWare Lite.

  78. 9. Enter the directory         9. At the bottom of the screen, the
  79. and path for setup             computer will ask you for the path you
  80.                                want the setup files to be copied to. 
  81.                                Normally you would set this path to the
  82.                                same location of the other WordPerfect
  83.                                files.  If that is correct, type in that
  84.                                path and press enter.  If not, change it
  85.                                to reflect the desired path.

  87. 10. Pres F7 to exit            10. Installation is now comlete.  Press
  88. installation                   the F7 function key to exit the
  89.                                installation menu.

  92. From now on, when you start WordPerfect, the program will prompt
  93. you to enter a three letter username.  This is to distinguish one
  94. user from another.  Each user must go into the setup (shift-F1)
  95. and define the location of their own files.  Each user must
  96. specify the drive letter they mapped WordPerfect to in NetWare
  97. Lite for the location of the system files.

  99. Note: When printing documents from WordPerfect, make sure you
  100. load NetWare Lite before you load WordPerfect.  And if your
  101. computer is installed as both a client and a server, make sure
  102. your startnet.bat file loads client before server (this is the
  103. default).
